The reporting location for this position is at Department Headquarters in Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I. The incumbent will perform various asset management functions for the Department, including property inventory and tracking using a Maximo 7.5 system. The incumbent will provide formal Maximo 7.5, Equipment Property Management and Statewide Property Inventory for New Users, Refresher, and Executive Training. Troubleshoot areas of concern for end users and work with the Maximo contractor to identify program parameters and resolve transactional and/or other database problems. The incumbent will ensure staff implement, track and report the Department’s progress in meeting the mandates of Executive Order S-20-04 to reduce grid-based electricity purchases and consumption for State-owned buildings by 20% by the year 2015. This includes mandated use of the US EPA Energy Star Portfolio Manager program as the benchmarking tool, attendance at quarterly EPAC meetings, and interaction with the DGS Energy Benchmarking liaison as needed. The incumbent will also be responsible for learning the forms program and should be well versed in Excel, Visio, Adobe and other software applications. Travel will be necessary throughout California. There are physical demands needed in order to perform this job such as lifting, bending, pulling and crawling in order to do inventories. State housing is not available.
