Under the general direction of the Business Taxes Administrator III (BTA III), Centralized Collection Section (CCS), Sales and Use Tax Department, the Business Taxes Administrator II (BTA II) provides supervisory guidance and assistance to the five Corporate Closeout teams headed by Business Taxes Compliance Supervisor II’s located either in the Board of Equalization’s Headquarter office or Norwalk District Office, along with a staff of Business Taxes Specialist I’s. The incumbent provides (1) direction and guidance on tax program and administrative problems relative to the operations of the collection section, (2) a major role with setting of statewide collection policies and procedures as an expert in collection issues, audit issues, petitions, and appeals, (3) coordination of special collection projects, (4) coordination of functions with other intradepartmental and interdepartmental groups, and (5) supervisory oversight, including review/approval, for the work of a multi-disciplinary staff and supervisors. The incumbent also advises the BTA III, CCS on collection matters related to district and headquarters collection programs. Appointment may become permanent if position status becomes permanent. The position is located in a high-rise building. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
