Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator II, the Office Technician (General) independently provides a wide variety of administrative and clerical support to the Accounting Branch. Candidate serves as reception back-up, answers telephones, and directs visitors. Distributes correspondences to Accounting Staff, classifies, sorts, and delivers mail. Performs various duties within the office such as preparing and processing invoices, refunds, and expense claims for payment and posting to various registers. Sorts, copies and files supporting invoice and expense reimbursement documents. Provides assistance with processing, preparing and maintaining personnel documents for the Accounting Branch, including maintenance of personnel and attendance files on employees hired and separated within the office, preparation of monthly attendance reports, and the maintenance of employee leave balances. Knowledge of computer software programs, good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills required. The position is located in a high-rise building. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. Applicants must submit a complete Standard State Application (STD 678) and clearly state basis of eligibility in the explanations portion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the STD. 678 not more than a one-page typed response to the following questions must be submitted with your application to be considered.
1. From a customer service perspective, describe a situation which you assisted a high level executive. What level of contact did you have with them? What specific actions did you take to assist them?
2. Describe the nature of your experience in maintaining confidential or sensitive information. How did you ensure there was no breach in confidentiality?
3. Describe your experience in handling negotiable instruments and/or accountable forms. What was your role in keeping these items secure?
