The reporting location for this position is One Capitol Mall in Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Boating Law Enforcement Manager. The duties of this position include: providing clerical support, including generating and processing contract forms based on information provided by the Unit analysts; tracking contracts through the approval process, which includes coordination with various control agencies, such as DGS; composing correspondence; editing and proofreading documents; answering telephones; word processing; data entry; handling mail and documents; filing and records management; making copies; maintaining phone, mailing, and email distribution lists; and maintaining Law Enforcement Training Program class and student records. The position will also provide minimal clerical support to the Boating Law Enforcement Manager and the Yacht and Ship Unit as needed. The successful candidate will have strong writing, grammar, and communication skills; excellent typing skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong filing and organizational skills; and basic familiarity with state contract forms and processes. Desirable qualifications include willingness to work in a team-oriented environment, ability to prioritize and organize workload; ability to work independently and use sound logical judgment, and the ability to handle a variety of different and difficult tasks simultaneously.
