The reporting location for this position is the Monterey Sector. This position will work under the direction of the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor Lifeguard. This position provides the opportunity for an individual to work within a highly motivated aquatics team where State Park Peace Officer Lifeguards are recognized as leaders in aquatic safety. The Monterey Sector spans a varied coastline and encompasses a variety of beach parks including: sparsely visited sandy beaches, urban beaches, pristine rocky coastline and Point Lobos State Reserve. To serve this diverse coastline the aquatic team works with the State Dive Team, an Inflatable rescue boat, Personal Water Craft, Swift Water Rescue Teams, a seasonal lifeguard program, community outreach, and a Junior Lifeguard program. This is a unique opportunity to work in a desirable location with a motivated team of park professionals in delivery of the department’s mission. State housing is not available.
