The reporting location for this position will be the North Coast Redwoods District Office located in Eureka at Fort Humboldt. This position works under the direction of the District Superintendent. The Park Maintenance Chief III directly supervises the Maintenance Services Section. As the District’s maintenance manager, it is the responsibility of this position to act as liaison with all agencies that regulate or impact maintenance functions, including working with the National Parks Maintenance Chief on projects throughout the Redwood National and State Park partnership. This position works with the District Superintendent to ensure clear and effective work among and between all functions. The Park Maintenance Chief works with the Administrative Chief regarding the purchasing, budgeting and personnel programs within the Maintenance Services Function. This position ensures that general equipment and maintenance principles are followed throughout the District and updates, maintains, evaluates, and monitors facility maintenance records, schedules and standards. Using Department guidelines this position develops and implements the District’s equipment maintenance program. Coordination of program and project work is done with the Sector Superintendents/Managers, Sector Maintenance Chiefs, Administration Chief, and other program administrators so that any inconvenience to the public is minimized and all grounds and facilities remain safe for public use.
