The Nutrition Services Division helps local agencies meet the nutritional needs of children in preschool through grade 12. The Child and Adult Care Food Program Unit administers the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). We are looking for experienced analysts who enjoy working with agencies at the local level and are committed to providing great customer service.
Review and be familiar with laws, regulations, and policies affecting child nutrition programs
Prepare letters, management bulletins, memos, and technical assistance materials
Develop and present financial management training for local non-public agencies
Develop program administration policies, operational guidance, and training materials
Develop state regulations to establish state agency policies to ensure proper meals are served
Evaluate and approve sponsor administrative budgets, quarterly reports, and budget revisions
Ability and willingness to work in a self-directed work team and support a team environment
Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability and willingness to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability and willingness to be flexible and work with changing work priorities
Experience with public speaking in both training settings and presentations
Travel up to 10 percent as necessary

Individuals who have eligibility for appointment to the above class (e.g., transfer, list, reinstatement). All applicants must clearly indicate the basis of their eligibility in the “Explanations” section on the Standard Application Form (Std. 678). The CACFP Unit will consider Staff Services Analyst candidates for recruitment purposes. Employment provisions as outlined by the California Department of Human Resources’ State Restriction of Appointments (SROA) policy will prevail. In addition, current or future executive orders relative to filling vacant positions may also affect this process. Applications will be screened and only the most qualified will be interviewed.
Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the minimum qualifications, the applicant will be removed from the eligibility list.
Candidates MUST include PC# 0554, 2058, or 2530 on the title section of your state application, otherwise your application may not be considered for an interview.
