Provide nursing care to primarily geriatric residents who are physically ill, disabled or convalescent. Assist the physician or nurse in the examination and treatment of residents. Motivate and assist residents in developing and utilizing their maximum potential for self-care. Assist with dressing, positioning, ambulating and transferring residents. Take and record blood pressure. Take and record weight.
• Knowledge of routine hospital techniques of bathing, feeding, lifting, transporting residents; making beds, and caring for residents’ clothing and other property.
• Knowledge of hospital routine and procedures.
• Knowledge of proper methods and attitudes involved in meeting the physical and psychosocial needs of physically ill, handicapped or disabled residents.
• Ability to assist medically trained personnel.
• Ability to communicate at a level required for successful performance.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to keep simple records.
Valid California Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate
