Job Description:
Operates and maintains the machinery used in opening and closing a movable span drawbridges: Operates and monitors marine band radio, mobile radio and telephone; observes prescribed safety rules, regulations, and marine laws applicable to the operation of the Delta Region Drawbridges; operates and cares for drawbridge lights; opens and closes barrier gates and gives proper warning signals during span movements; ensures that bridge machinery and equipment are maintained in good condition; makes regular routine inspections of the bridge deck for debris; makes regular and special reports on the operation of the bridge and the condition of the equipment; performs routine housekeeping duties, and do other related work as noted below.

Transfers may be made to classifications, or ranges in a classification, with the same salary range as an employee’s current salary range. Please note: Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
