This position will assist in the development and tracking of the annual budget. Duties will include preparing and maintaining databases to track progress and decision making of concept papers, budget change proposals (BCP), budget adjustments, and program resources; updating documents provided to management for BCP preparation; analyzing control agencies budget instructions and updating the appropriate internal procedures; preparing fiscal display cost sheets for the BCPs; assisting in the preparation of the budget galley and various schedules; and analyzing data from the California State Accounting and Reporting System (CALSTARS) reports for various internal tracking reports.
The most competitive applicants will have budget experience, be detail-oriented, proficient in computer applications (Windows, Excel, Access), able to handle multiple assignments with tight deadlines, be familiar with State fiscal process and CALSTARS reporting system, and have some knowledge of the Air Resources Board's Programs. In addition, qualified applicants should possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills. A four-year degree in business, finance, or accounting is highly desirable.
