Under general supervision from the Supervisor, Computer Audit Specialist Unit, the Business Taxes Specialist I works independently, with minimal supervision, to provide technical audit assistance and support to field auditors conducting audits or reviews of taxpayers with complex, electronic accounting records. Through use of specialized training and software, the Computer Audit Specialist performs analyses on large volumes of accounting data. The unique role of the Computer Audit Specialist as one who bridges the gap between tax auditing and information systems requires exercising considerable tact, technical competence, and interpersonal skills to gain taxpayer’s cooperation and promote the working efficiency of the audit team. Extensive travel may be required (over 50%). The Computer Audit Specialist may perform other job-related duties as required. The incumbent will receive $346.00 per month pay differential. Travel required 50% of the time. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority

Please describe your experience with using a computer audit specialist in performing the Sales and Use Tax audit of a large organization listed on your AUD AS transmitted Sales and Use Tax audit list. Please note any techniques used to short cut or expedite the completion of the sales and use tax audit.
3. Please describe in detail your methods used in planning and performing a Sales and Use Tax audit using electronic data.
4. Please describe your qualifications and skills that will assist you in becoming a successful computer audit specialist.
