The Board of Equalization, Customer Service and Publishing Division is looking for a Business Taxes Representative (BTR) to work in the Taxpayer Information Section. The Taxpayer Information Section responds to over 600,000 calls and 20,000 e-mails per year, providing customers and taxpayers with information on a wide range of tax areas covering sales and use taxes, 25 special tax areas (environmental, hazardous waste, recycling, etc.) and property taxes. The BTR will provide technical advice in writing and verbally to employees and taxpayers concerning the programs administered by the Board of Equalization (BOE). They will assign, review and track the work of Tax Technicians. In addition, they will assist with the development and training of others Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. BTR/TA – Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. Training and Development assignments may be considered.

1. Provide a brief description of relevant work experience that best qualifies you for this position, including any experience working in a fast paced, high pressure environment with changing priorities.
2. Being the lead subject matter expert for a program can be challenging. Provide us with the steps you would take to ensure success in meeting this challenge for a new call center.
3. Describe what accountability means to you and how you have demonstrated accountability in the past.
