The reporting location for this position is the Oceano Dunes District Office located in Pismo Beach. This position will work under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist. The Oceano Dunes District has an active resource management program that involves listed species management, restoration, invasive exotic weed control, regular monitoring of plant and animal communities, and water quality management. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring endangered species populations, exotic weed control, restoration of degraded habitats, and overseeing resource projects in the District. Previous experience in monitoring western snowy plover and California least tern is desirable. This position may work up to 1500 hours per year. State housing is not available.
