The reporting location for this position is the Office of Historic Preservation (OHP) in Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer. The incumbent’s duties include assisting with coordination of the OHP’s web-based communications, publications, educational programs, and the Governor’s Historic Preservation Awards. Desirable qualifications include: Experience with web and publication design, including HTML coding; experience with creating educational programs for presentation in person or online; a degree in history or experience in public history/historic preservation. Some travel is required. In addition to the standard State application, applicants for this position must submit a cover letter that describes how they meet the desirable qualifications listed above and a separate writing sample of at least two pages.
