Do want to learn the idiosyncrasies of the IRIS system for the specialized Consumer Use Tax Section (CUTS) accounts? Are you interested in joining a fast-paced team that is proactive in its support of IRIS? Put in your bid (application) to join the “cut” above team of the Consumer Use Tax Section. This Business Taxes Representative position is on Team D and reports directly to the Business Taxes Administrator I. In general, this position analyzes the Sales and Use Tax Laws to determine the taxability of a transaction and responds and/or provides advisory services to customers. This requires maintenance of accounts on-line in our IRIS system. We are looking for that specific individual who can think outside the box, has a strong work ethic and can adjust to ever-changing priorities. If you have these skills, please submit a standard state application form, school transcripts, and notice of ranking on the BTR list. We are currently looking to fill two positions. BTR/TA – Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. The position is located in a high-rise building. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. Travel required 25% of the time. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
In addition to the Standard State Application (STD. 678) you will need to submit copies of your transcripts confirming the required courses and a two page typed response to the following supplemental questions.
1. Describe what customer service means to you and what skills you have developed to provide good customer service.
2. Describe productivity techniques you have developed and how you would utilize these techniques to be successful in an environment with high inventory.
3. Summarize an experience that best exemplifies your ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
