Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Supervisor, Allocation Group, the Business Taxes Specialist I is a lead position in resolving the most difficult local and district tax inquiries usually involving significant dollars in potential reallocation and having great impact on both losing and gaining local jurisdictions. This position is also responsible for preparing summaries for local tax appeals cases involving extensive legal and case history research. In addition, this position assists the Allocation Group Supervisor in serving as an expert on local tax matters for management; prepares special reports for management and consultants; approves fund transfers and correspondence in the supervisor’s absence; and is a resource to other group staff in resolving local tax issues. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
