Job Description:


This position provides administrative and clerical support to Vehicle, Parts & Consumer Products Enforcement Branch Chief, other branch chiefs, managers, and technical staff within this branch. The successful candidate will: track work assignments, finalize and proofread reports, letters, memoranda, and charts, maintain appointment calendars and arrange meetings, make travel arrangements, screen incoming calls, create mailing lists and mail correspondence, copy materials, organize, maintain, and index files, log in and distribute mail, track and order supplies; respond to public requests for documents. The successful candidate will also need to be proficient in writing highlights and status reports. The candidate will also act as backup for other branches and division support staff.


The most competitive candidates will possess: the ability to apply good customer service techniques; ability to meet deadlines and follow written and verbal instructions; ability to handle a demanding pace; attentiveness to detail; flexibility to cope with shifting priorities; knowledge of correct punctuation, spelling, and grammar; creativity to find solutions to bureaucratic obstacles; good attendance habits; and strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Successful candidates will be adaptable, accurate, reliable, self-motivated, and a team player. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Netscape, with the ability to create complex forms, templates, merge documents, and tables. Candidates should also have experience (or the ability to easily learn) Power Point, Excel, and Access.

We are located close to restaurants, shopping centers, tour sites (i.e.: Disneyland, Beaches, Hollywood), and many more. We have FREE PARKING -What a deal! But if you need to use public transportation it is close by.
