The reporting location for this position is the Facilities Management Division located at the Heilbron Mansion in Sacramento, with extensive travel and long term project coordination at any State Park. This position will work under the direction of the Park and Recreation Specialist and the lead of a Park Maintenance Worker I. This position will frequently work from remote locations to efficiently complete task assignments. This position will provide daily support to the CCC crews in trail maintenance, road brushing and resource maintenance activities. Work will include heavy manual labor, extensive walking to and from work sites, hot summer temperatures, cold winter conditions including work in rain and snow conditions, and work in high altitude, desert and coastal environments. This position is required to work nights, weekends, odd hours, and overtime in accomplishment of assigned tasks. Overnight travel and spike camps throughout the State, remote work locations, and 8 or 10 day work assignments are expected. This position may work up to 1500 hours per year based on special project funding. A Basic 32 Wildland Firefighting Certificate is required. Please provide proof of eligibility with application.
