TYPICAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Personnel Supervisor II is responsible for all personnel transaction and PPAS Timekeeping function. This position directly supervises Personnel Supervisor I’s, Senior Personnel Specialist, and Office Technician and indirectly supervises Personnel Specialists and Office Technicians (Typing) Custody Timekeeping. Provide secondary supervision of the transaction functions including payroll and benefits. Provide direct supervision of the reception desk, ensuring customer service is provided and accuracy is maintained. General supervision of the CTB, NDI, IDL, Workers Compensation and Temporary Disability functions performed by the Senior Personnel Specialist. Ensure consistency and compliance with rules, regulations, and departmental policies. Ensure the Department’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy, Sexual Harassment policy, and code of conduct are followed promoting a work environment free from discrimination and harassment. Prepare performance evaluations, probationary reports, and administer progressive discipline and corrective action as necessary. Provide training and mentoring to staff under direct supervision. Provide workload direction and assign work. Facilitate hiring by conducting interviews, evaluating, and recommending candidates for appointment. Serve as an expert staff resource. Provide direction and/or personally process the most difficult personnel transactions, such as awards involving calculation of back pay and Adverse Actions. Independently prepare various written documents and/or reports for employees and/or management. Develop and review special reports as assigned.
