Under direction from the Administrator I of the Migrant Education Office and the Director of the English Learner Support Division, and working cooperatively with program units and managers throughout the Department, the incumbent works independently on the following:
Coordinates and organizes the Identification and Recruitment (I&R) Program. Activities include defining eligibility requirements, revising the program guide, instructions, and training materials.
Coordinates and organizes all activities regarding migrant student data collection (i.e., Migrant Student Information Network [MSIN] including training regional program staff.
Prepare regulatory and budget reports as required by the Legislature, the State Board of Education, the California Department of Education, and the United States Department of Education.
Knowledge and experience with providing support services related to migrant students.
Extensive knowledge of federal and state law related to migrant students.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Strong organizational skills.

An individual who possesses a California education administration credential, or credential or life diploma of equivalent authorization, or a master’s or doctorate degree must attach a copy of that document to his/her application. Employment provisions as outlined by the Department of Personnel Administration's State Restriction of Appointments (SROA) policy will prevail. In addition, current or future executive orders relative to filling vacant positions may also affect this process.
Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the minimum qualifications, the applicant will be removed from the eligibility list.
