Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, and working closely with the Executive Secretary and Staff Services Analyst in the unit, the Office Technician will provide clerical support to the staff in the offices of the Director and Associate Director of the Special Education Division.
Review and edit correspondence from unit and division staff to ensure accurate content, grammar, punctuation, and compliance with the Department Correspondence Guide standards
Schedule and prepare information for meetings, copying, faxing, scanning, develop correspondence, process mail, maintain unit and division files and library per established procedures and retention guidelines
Answer phones and appropriately assist or direct callers
Prepare travel arrangements for unit staff, including completion and approval of all necessary travel documentation
Complete timely and accurate updates to the division intranet site, and Composition of Special Education Law database
Serve as a back-up for resolving routine information technology issues within the unit and division. Serve as back up Web site contributor.
Serve as the unit timekeeper.
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Strong grammar, writing and organizational skills
Strong computer skills, including working knowledge and experience with data management systems
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact well with the public
