Associate Tax Auditor, under the general direction of the Supervising Tax Auditor I, the Associate Tax Auditor reviews, and or/adjusts the more difficult and complex sales tax returns, allocations schedules, field audit reports and taxpayer accounts in accordance with the local tax allocation guidelines. The Associate Tax Auditor also identifies questionable allocation/district tax distributions that should be investigated and works closely w/the local jurisdictions to ensure compliance. Knowledge of local and district tax laws and regulations. Investigate the largest and most complex (Fortune 500 taxpayer) accounts and district and local tax questionable amounts. Prepares billings and fund transfers as needed for authorization by Revenue Verification Team Lead (RVT). Assist local jurisdictions with tax distribution questions and responds to other local & district inquiries. Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), have strong analytical skills, and ability to work independently. Knowledge of Access with ability to develop queries and linking routines is desirable. BTR/TA – Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. The position is located in a high-rise building. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted.
