Job Description:


Under the general direction of a Data Processing Manager III within the Technology Services Division, the incumbent serves as the lead analyst and technical expert responsible for the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement System (CALPADS) technical infrastructure. The incumbent will lead the most complex projects and tasks involving analysis, design, development, installation, implementation, administration, technical support, and management of CALPADS technical infrastructure. The incumbent will be the lead analyst and liaison with the California Technology Agency, Office of Technology Services. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • General System Infrastructure: Serves as the technical lead on general CALPADS system infrastructure, including performance monitoring, system debugging, system maintenance, and general technical analysis.
  • Windows Active Directory (AD) Administrator: Serves as the technical lead and administrator for Windows AD and is responsible for all aspects of AD, including the active management of AD users, groups, and roles as it pertains to CALPADS.
  • Storage Area Network (SAN) Administration: Serves as the technical lead and is responsible for the most complex aspects of SAN administration, specifically for the IBM System Storage N series within the CALPADS environment.
  • Windows and Internet Information Services (IIS) Server Administration: Acts as the administrator for the Windows and IIS Server as it pertains to CALPADS, and is responsible for all aspects related to the Windows and IIS Server.
  • Windows System Center Operations Manager (SCOM): Serves as the technical lead and administrator for Windows SCOM and is responsible for customizing SCOM for CALPADS performance and system monitoring.


  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance.
  • Experience in supporting large IT systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Support management and the missions and goals of the division and unit.
