Under the direction of the Supervising Dentist, Correctional Facility, the Dental Laboratory Technician oversees the daily operation of the dental laboratory services within an institution. The Dental Laboratory Technician carries out skilled laboratory procedures necessary to fabricate and repair dental prosthetic devices for inmates. The Dental Laboratory Technician is responsible for compliance with all State and Federal infection control, safety, and the hazardous material storage and disposal. In the dental laboratory, in which inmates are utilized to fabricate dental prosthesis, the Dental Laboratory Technician is responsible for training all inmates working in the lab, in infection control and safety procedures. The Dental Laboratory Technician is responsible for daily tool control procedures and for training inmates in fabrication of dental prosthesis. A detailed duty statement is available upon request.
Requirements (Minimum Qualifications): Three years of responsible experience as a dental laboratory technician on all types of work.
