Title:  CHILD NUTRITION CONSULTANT

Job Description:

The Nutrition Services Division is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and committed nutrition professional to join the Education and Nutrition Policy Unit (ENPU). As a member of the ENPU, you will provide technical assistance to schools on provisions of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (HHFKA); participate on the ENPU training team; develop and field test technical assistance tools; and assist in the solicitation and selection of training contractors. As a policy expert, you will also provide policy guidance and other communications to schools and collaborate with other units within the department on HHFKA related topics. You will join a supportive and dedicated team of nutrition professionals working together to promote the health and well-being of California’s children and families.

A current Registered Dietitian Certificate from the Commission on Dietetic Registration is recommended.

Individuals who have eligibility for appointment to the above class (e.g., transfer, list, reinstatement). May consider Child Nutrition Assistant candidates for recruitment purposes. All applicants must clearly indicate the basis of their eligibility in the “Explanations” section on the Standard Application Form (Std. 678). Employment provisions as outlined by the Department of Personnel Administration's State Restriction of Appointments (SROA) policy will prevail. In addition, current or future executive orders relative to filling vacant positions may also affect this process. Applications will be screened and only the most qualified will be interviewed.

PLEASE NOTE:
Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the minimum qualifications, the applicant will be removed from the eligibility list.

Candidates MUST include ENPU CNC on the title section of your state application, otherwise your application may not be considered for an interview.
