Job Description:
The Secretary of State’s Office is seeking multiple Limited Term, full-time Program Technicians in the Business Programs Division. If you enjoy a fast paced and changing environment, this job may be for you. The position is located in downtown Sacramento, near Light Rail, K Street Mall, and other amenities.

Under the general supervision of a Supervising Program Technician I, Supervising Program Technician II, Supervising Program Technician III, or Corporation Assistant, create and update customer accounts and/or tracking records, review and/or examine various routine documents, filings, and requests to ensure compliance with statutory or regulatory requirements; make careful analysis and process and/or perform semi-technical functions related to these documents. Retrieve and/or review images, microfilmed records, or other hard copy files for review process. Process requests, provide status information on documents, filings and requests and generate appropriate letters, copies, or certificates for return to customers. Utilize paper files, electronic files, microfilm and/or a computer system and other equipment to input and retrieve information from the database, complete tracking records, assign identification numbers, certify copies and process the above documents and requests. Balance cashiering receipts, prepare daily deposits, log forms and distribute copies of forms to appropriate files. Interact professionally with the public at the public counter or by telephone regarding routine inquiries, filing requirements, information, documents and fees received. Research and respond to routine customer inquiries by mail or telephone and refers the more difficult correspondence or issues to a more experienced technician (lead) or the supervisor. Keep lead and or supervisor apprised of any identified problems.

Desirable Qualifications:
Ability to interact effectively with the public and Agency personnel. Possess knowledge of modern office methods, equipment and general procedures. Ability to meet deadlines, take initiative, work independently, and has the willingness to learn new duties. Punctuality and good attendance are essential.

Special Requirements:
For Notary and Special Filings positions, you must pass a background check. Who Can Apply:
In accordance with Government Code Sections 19080-19083 these positions are established for 12 months; and it is anticipated the duration of these positions will be extended to 24 months.
Applicants must have current list, transfer or reinstatement eligibility for Limited Term, full-time appointment to the Program Technician classification.
