Under the direction of the Associate Warden-Facilities, the Captain (Adult Institution) plans, organizes, directs the program for the safe custody, discipline, and care/treatment of inmates within a program unit; and serves as Administrative Officer of the Day. The Captain (Adult Institution) is responsible for the establishing and maintaining the overall security within his/her assigned unit. The Captain (Adult Institution) provides ongoing management for Fire and Life Safety, Classification, Custody, Inmate Work Incentive and Training Programs, facility cleanliness, organization planning and management, fiscal reviews and other duties as assigned by the Correctional Administrator. The Captain (Adult Institution) is responsible for the reception, evaluation, orientation and classification of the facility inmates. A detailed duty statement is available upon request.
