JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general direction of the Assistant Manager of the Classification and Pay Unit in the Personnel Management Unit, the incumbent provides quality customer service while performing the less complex and technical work of the department’s Classification and Pay program. Provides guidance and assistance to managers on hiring matters; consults with Exams and Position Control staff and recommends appropriate action for recruitment efforts. Incumbent will also be tasked with establishment of a new position folder file system for all FTB positions and assisting PMC’s with the transition to this process. Develop procedures for the continued maintenance of the system. In addition, develop a new class history files and assist PMCs with the creation of the files and the process for future growth. Responsible for monitoring the logging system for all 7855s that enter and exit PMU. Responsible for the scanning, sending and eventually posting online to our FTBNet all approved duty statements. Act as backup to the Performance Management/Progressive Discipline unit with adverse actions. Will also assist with coordinating selection issues with Exams as needed. Conducts classification studies and audits; prepares management reports and issue papers. Liaison with CalHR, SPB and SCO within areas of responsibility.
