JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general administration of the Section Supervisor and the team lead, the incumbent will work in a team environment and possess technical skills and experience with telecommunications systems such as the Private Branch Exchange (PBX), voice mail and Genesys CTI system to ensure the smooth functioning of Telecom systems. Also provides other general Telecom services enterprise wide. Participate in Telecom planning, acquisition, technology research and evaluation of new technologies for use within the current operational programs. Expectations also include working within the technical/operational programs and systems as they relate to the needs of the Telecommunications Infrastructure Services. All duties are performed within the framework of the department’s mission and values.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS :
Skills to support telecommunication functions.
Ability to identify and diagnose malfunctions of systems using available diagnostic tools to ensure the hardware or software performs to the systems specifications.
Ability to analyze data and situations logically to troubleshoot problems and make recommendations.
Ability to identify problems, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions.
Ability to work independently to solve problems, meet deadlines, and keep abreast of current industry best practices.
Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, leadership abilities, and strong customer service experience.
Ability to install, maintain, and repair voice, data and video equipment.
Experience with service desk, various operating systems, network administration, installation, management, and security. Knowledge of ITIL framework.
Knowledge of the rapid changing telecommunications technology including the Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP).
