District 11 is accepting applications for a Caltrans Landscape Specialist in the Maintenance Division. All applicants will be screened for breadth and depth of experience. Only the most qualified applicants will be interviewed based on screening criteria. For this reason, it is especially important that applicants take special care in accurately and completely filling out the application.
In addition to the state application, each prospective applicant is required to submit a one-page written paper (Statement of Qualifications) describing his or her qualifications and interest in the position.
Caltrans Landscape Specialist – Under the general direction of a Caltrans Maintenance Manager I, the Caltrans Landscape Specialist is the Maintenance Division’s expert in landscaping and grounds maintenance, tree maintenance and chemical vegetation control. Possession is required of a valid agricultural Pest Control Advisor license issued by the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal EPA) covering the following categories: control of insects, mites, and other invertebrates; control of vertebrate pests; control of weeds; regulation of plant growth. The Caltrans Landscape Specialist must be registered with the county agricultural commissioner.

If it is determined an applicant does not meet the minimum qualifications, the applications will be forwarded to the State Personnel Board for review and the applicant's name may be removed from the eligibility list.>/p>
