Under the general direction of the Assistant Chief Counsel of the Litigation Division and the Supervising Tax Counsel III, the Tax Counsel III will handle or assist in handling all aspects of the more complex litigation matters. Litigates, together with the Deputy Attorney General (DAG), the more complex business tax litigation cases involving substantive tax law issues and litigation tactics. Prepares and/or reviews all court filings, pleadings, briefs, points and authorities, discovery requests and responses, and other documents prepared in connection with business tax litigation. Performs legal research and prepares the more complex correspondence. Advises and consults with constitutional officers, Executive Director, and staff. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. The position is located in a high-rise building.
