Job Description:

Located in the Sierra Nevada mountains, near Lake Tahoe and Reno.  Employees may live in Nevada if desired.  The Truckee Communications Center serves Truckee, Gold Run, and the South Lake Tahoe area.  Three shifts operate 24 hours a day/seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.  Seniority shift sign-ups with rotating days off.

Duties:  Duties include operating the radio, automated systems and computer aided dispatch, dispatching appropriate personnel and resources, answering both emergency and non-emergency calls from officers, the public, media, and allied agencies.

Desirable qualifications:  The position requires a motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the willingness and ability to provide essential services to the public.

Who may apply:  Persons currently in the Public Safety Dispatcher classification who are eligible to transfer, should submit a CHP 220, Request for Transfer, to the contact person below.  The most senior same-class transfer who responds by the final filing date shall be selected. 

Persons eligible to apply must be on a certification list, eligible to transfer, voluntarily demote, reinstate, or be on an SROA list or designated Surplus.  All applicants will be considered; only the most qualified will be interviewed.
