DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Senior Accounting Officer, serves as the lead person for the purchasing function of the Center. Independently reviews purchasing requisitions for various facility programs and departments for accuracy, appropriateness and determines proper method of processing request, prior to placing order. Distributes purchase requisitions among the other purchasing staff. Processes orders by computer automation system or by typewriter. Distributes copies of purchase orders to designated departments, HQ Accounting and maintains a file system for follow-up needed. Maintains register of all purchase orders. Administers delegated purchasing authority following the guidelines provided by the Department of General Services and policies in the State Administrative Manual and other duties as required.
WHO MAY APPLY: Current or former State employees with lateral transfer or reinstatement eligibility at the Management Services Technician level or those eligible on the Management Services Technician certification list. NOTE: Appointment subject to Department Restriction of Appointment (DROA), State Restriction of Appointment (SROA), Surplus and Re-employment List, and pre-employment physical and fingerprint clearances.
