The Maintenance and Operations Section has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Worker-Lead 81# 13-089
The California Exposition & State Fair Maintenance & Operations exists to support the overall mission of Cal Expo to create a State Fair experience reflecting California including its industries, agriculture, diversity of its people, traditions and trends shaping its future, supportedby year-round events.
Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position will perform journeyperson work in the receipt, storage, inventory, and issue of materials, to use powered or non-powered materials handling equipment as necessary, may instruct and or lead State Fair Workers and to do other related work.
Work Environment Req's: Must be available to work off hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary and when business needs warrant.
Desirable Qualifications: Willingness to do heavy manual labor in either indoor/outdoor storage areas, Knowledge of halth and safety practices, Strong organizational skills, timeline management, meet deadlines requirements; Good written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and be able to multi-task; Exceptional attendance, punctuality, and dependability; Outstanding customer service skills, consultative abilities, exhibit tact and diplomacy in verbal and written communications, and possess a strong work ethic; Ability to work independently or cooperatively in a group setting, Ability to work weekends, holidays and irregular shifts.
