This is a Peace Officer classification subject to POST requirements. Duties include the investigation of employee misconduct, burglary/robbery of offices, tampering w/ official records systems, and other special cases of a criminal nature. Investigations are highly confidential and may be extremely complex. Work closely with/conducts joint investigations with local/state/federal law enforcement & prosecuting agencies. Position requires duties as an active member of the Computer Forensics Team (CFT), involving analysis of computer applications/data, accounting procedures and adherence to legal statutes. CFT assignment includes seizure of computers, mobile devices, electronic storage media, and data storage devices; knowledge of computer investigative/analysis techniques used to image, recover and/or interpret data to determine potential evidence for criminal/admin investigations. Assists the department's Information Security Office/Information Protection Office. Highly Desirable Skills: Previous experience in computer forensics and/or computer technology.
