Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general supervision of a Tax Program Supervisor, and the direction of a leadperson, the TPTI is responsible for processing complex PIT/BE accounts and making the appropriate adjustments using specified instructions and established procedures and guidelines. TPTI’s will provide technical assistance to Collectors in support of the bureau’s collection efforts. Candidates will be supporting the Personal Income Tax Systems, Business Entities (Tax), Vehicle Registration Collection (Non-Tax) and Court Ordered Debt (Non-Tax) when processing Earnings Withholding Orders and Orders to Withhold. It is expected that the individual will consistently exercise a high degree of independence, initiative and professionalism.

Additional positions may be available in the following Bureau:
  • Special Programs Bureau

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Knowledge of or experience with TI, BETS, ARCS, BOE, ACES, DMV, COD, LexisNexis, Word and Excel
  • Practices the department’s Mission and Values
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes in priorities and/or workload demands
  • Strong work ethic, including good attendance and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the provisions of the rules, regulations, organization and procedures of the Franchise Tax Board
  • Ability to work effectively in a production environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment

WHO MAY APPLY :
Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) may also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
