Under general direction of the Business Taxes Administrator II, the incumbent directly supervises SCOP (Statewide Compliance Outreach Program) groups in a district office, in their efforts to promote compliance, deter fraud/tax evasion, and enhance compliance for all programs administered by the Board. Typical functions include supervising responsibilities for the SCOP Team and the coordinating/reviewing of work to ensure that businesses are accurately complying with all tax laws. The BTA I will work with headquarters units, other Board divisions, other state/local agencies, local cities and with multiple Board districts on a simultaneous basis to keep the inspection work coordinated, managed and productive. The incumbent is also responsible for motivating, training and the development of staff to ensure job thoroughness in all field work, public contacts and mandatory report information, and performing other duties as necessary. Incumbent must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Position requires travel overnight up to 20% of the time. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for up to five consecutive nights. Relocation expenses may be considered. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted.
