JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general direction of an Administrator I, the Tax Technician is responsible for responding to telephone calls and correspondence from taxpayers/debtors, their representatives, financial institutions, and employers regarding delinquent tax and non-tax issues. You will explain the basis for assessments, handle liability disputes, establish installment agreements, explain levy-related activities, and request account adjustments. Using standard account resolution techniques, you will analyze accounts to determine appropriate actions to collect the outstanding liability. You are required to function with the highest degree of professionalism at all times and are responsible for supporting the Mission and Values of the department and the ARM Division’s Vision Statement and strategies.

Additional positions may be available in the following Bureaus:
Working knowledge of PIT, BE, and non-tax procedures.
Working knowledge of the Taxpayer Information System (TI) and/or Business Entities Tax System (BETS), ARCS, and dependent systems.
Strong computer skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
Ability to use online research resources.
Experience in customer service and/or collecting past due accounts.
Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish).
