THE MILITARY DEPARTMENT IS THE STATE FUNCTION OF THE CALIFORNIA ARMY AND AIR NATIONAL GUARDS. Successful candidate must be able to pass Live Scan and a National Agency Background check. DUTY STATEMENT: 40% Reconcile daily CALSTARS reports. Research errors with accounting staff and input error corrections into CALSTARS. Receive all pay warrants and registers from the State Controller’s Office ( SCO). Daily and monthly distribution of pay warrants, including monthly master payroll, Retiree pay warrants and garnishments. Distribute warrants to appropriate individuals. 30% Prepare cash state receipts for all monies received. Input and code all cash state receipts into CALSTARS. Prepare daily bank deposits. Prepare bimonthly tax deposits for the State Active Duty payrolls and Retiree payrolls. 25% Audit and monitor CaLATERS travel advances and expense reimbursements for compliance with state regulations. Prepare/process vendor payments, salary and travel advances issued from the Department’s Revolving Fund. Input expenditures from Direct Transfer invoice (i.e. General Services, State Printing, Tech Svcs, etc.). Maintain logs for ADIA account. 5% Other duties as required. Desirable qualifications: Working knowledge of CalStars.
