JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Disability Management Unit has an opening for a highly motivated individual to perform the duties of a Disability Compenation Benefits Specialist responsible for processing documents for FMLA, SDI, PFL, NDI and WC. Demonstrates flexibility while working within the timeframes of laws, rules, policies and guidelines to independently process documents related to disability benefits for FTB employees. Provides training as necessary. Prepares reports and assists in the development of policies and procedures related to disability compensation benefits processing. Demonstrates a positive attitude and a commitment to provide customers with accurrate, timely and complete assistance in all areas of responsibility.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to assess and resolves semi-complex problems.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment with all levels of the organization using good tact and judgment.

Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
Experience with DPA and SPB Laws and Rules governing the procedures for processing documents related to disability compensation benefits.
Ability to take initiative to improve processes.
