DUTIES OF THE POSITION :
Under the direction of the Information Technology Customer Services Manager, the Associate Information Systems Analyst:
45% *Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the desktop computers at one or more CAL FIRE protective units. *Will drive state vehicle to outlaying facilities and effect repairs onsite (Averaging 2-3 hours per day driving), supporting both networked and stand-alone personal computers.
30% *Performs the installation of software and hardware, providing minor support to customers for software purchased and/or applications developed by the department. *Supports Microsoft Office productivity tools and other commercial-off-the-shelf software. Coordinates problem resolution and escalates issues as needed, either to the unit, his/her supervisor, or to the Tier III support in Sacramento.
15% *Performs minor network additions and revisions – adding patch cables, users, replacing switches, or wireless access points. Working with Sacramento elements of Information Technology, or their OCIO designate, acts as technical representative for repair of CAL FIRE workstations and network infrastructure. *Maintains a current inventory of all hardware and software in the area of responsibility.
5% *Reviews requests for additional or replacement of personal computer hardware and software equipment for accuracy, appropriate technology and technical application. *Maintains purchasing and contracting audit files to ensure compliance with all applicable procurement rules including solicitations, awards, and inspection of equipment and software upon receipt.
5% *Provides informal training to customers on the proper use of hardware, vendor software, and operating systems. With input and assistance for headquarters IT staff, documents procedures for use by field personnel. *Attends meetings and conference calls. *Responds to priorities assigned by the Customer Services Supervisor, Region, and Unit personnel. Submits timesheets, travel claims, and leave requests per direction.
