Limited Term Intermittent Position
DUTIES: The Off-Road Diesel Analysis Section within the Mobile Source Analysis Branch is responsible for developing emissions estimates for a broad range of off-road diesel equipment categories, including construction equipment, oceangoing vessels, and agricultural off-road equipment. This will require developing a variety of new modeling tools and research programs while also supporting regulatory divisions in the development of a number of critical ARB rules and programs related to off-road diesel sources. Duties of the position include assisting in estimating and updating emissions and projections by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and methodologies based on studies, tests, surveys, and the literature; analyzing and helping prepare written critiques of complex and detailed technical reports; and assisting in developing models for emissions estimation that may include programming, and working with staff in other sections, and divisions.
Will be in a training capacity and will work under close supervision of the Section Manager.
DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate for this position will be enthusiastic and demonstrate initiative, have excellent written and oral communication skills, have the ability to understand technical and policy issues, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with other staff. We are seeking a candidate with experience developing mobile source emissions estimates, a good understanding of different emissions inventory modeling tools and approaches, and the proven ability to work well with upper management. The candidate must be able to work in a team setting, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under tight timelines.
