JOB DESCRIPTION :
We have the following opportunities to join the ARM Division’s teams:
Franchise Tax Board Administrator I perform a wide variety of supervisory and managerial work necessary to effectively administer Franchise Tax Board's programs. Incumbents typically plan, organize, and direct the work of employees performing tax program-related activities, or assist a higher-level administrator in planning and directing a major program activity. On occasion, incumbents may be assigned responsibility for directing special departmental studies involving new or expanded program areas which require a high level of managerial and administrative skills.
Positions in these classes are designated as supervisory or managerial. Positions are either: (1) managerial, having significant responsibility for formulating or administering agency policies and programs; or (2) supervisory, performing duties which are substantially different from those of subordinates, and having authority in the interest of management to: hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline other employees; or responsibly direct their work, adjust their grievances, or effectively recommend such actions. Lead positions are not appropriate for allocation to this series.

WHO MAY APPLY : Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) may also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
