JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the direct supervision of a Tax Program Supervisor and the technical direction of a Tax Program Technician II, you process the HOH/STARS workloads. The assessment activities include making accurate audit determinations by interpreting tax laws and applying audit procedures. The resolution activities include resolving audits, ensuring compliance with tax laws, educating the taxpayer, and providing quality customer service. The resolution workload requires the technician to resolve audit issues pertaining to any of the automated audit programs which are: Head of Household (HOH), Selection of Tax Returns for Automated Audit Review System (STARS) and Tax Exempt Bond Interest (TEBI). Technicians are expected to rotate between the assessment and resolution work.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Working knowledge of TI, PAWS, ADCORR, and the PIT collection system.
Knowledge of Personal Income Tax laws (PIT) and familiarity with State & Federal Forms.
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills (Both oral and written).
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and customer service oriented.
Ability to work in an environment where priorities may change
