**THREE POSITIONS** If customer service is your specialty and you enjoy working with a variety of individuals and assisting others, the Board of Equalization’s (BOE) Headquarters Reception office is the job for you! We are looking for an individual that is dependable, has great communication skills, is very organized and works well in a team environment. Under the general direction of the Office Services Supervisor II, the Office Technician (Typing) performs technical tasks in support of the Reception Office, will assist visitors and employees; handle and transfer telephone calls; issue limited-term security badges; schedule conference rooms, cashier and reconcile regional transit (RT) items during the BOE employee discount period. This position requires a Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm work schedule. Only the most qualified candidates will be interviewed. Office Technician (T) candidates must possess a valid typing certificate. The position is located in a high-rise building. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
In addition to the STD. 678 not more than a one page typed response to the following questions must be submitted with your application.
1. Describe a situation in which you assisted a customer or client. What level of contact did you have with them? What specific actions did you take to assist the customer or client?
2. Describe the nature of your experience in maintaining confidential or sensitive information. How did you ensure there was no breach in confidentiality?
3. Describe your experience in handling negotiable instruments and/or accountable forms. What was your role in keeping these items secure?
