The Northern School Nutrition Programs Unit (NSNPU) of the Nutrition Services Division is looking for an independent, creative, and hardworking Office Technician. This position will directly support the Staff Services Manager I for the NSNPU.

DUTIES

  • Type and edit complex correspondence and reports, review all NSNPU documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with California Department of Education’s (CDE) Correspondence Guide. Perform mail merges as needed
  • Maintain tracking systems for correspondence, reports, information requests, and various information using spreadsheets, Microsoft Access, and the Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS)
  • Assist with researching, reviewing, tracking, and approving information within the CNIPS during busy seasons
  • Serve as the attendance clerk and procurement coordinator for the NSNPU and Southern School Nutrition Programs Unit
  • Screen telephone calls for management and analysts
  • Make travel arrangements, schedule meetings, and perform other general office support as required

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong editing and writing skills, excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills and experience establishing and maintaining tracking systems
  • Positive interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people
  • Ability to handle time sensitive issues and solve problems creatively
