Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general direction of the supervisor of the Exempt Support Unit, the Tax Technician II resolves the most complex accounts. Workloads include processing exempt applications on BETS and PASS, charitable trusts, revivors, DLCs, NPAs, and reviewing procedures and publications. The TPT II is also a back-up to our exempt call center. Must be able to work independently, exercise good judgement and require little supervision or qualilty review.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to analyze data and situations, draw sound conclusions, and take appropriate action
  • Experience performing transactions on BETS and PASS
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance
  • Familiarity with ADCORR, IDAX, and ACCESS
  • Positive attitude and a sense of humor

WHO MAY APPLY :
Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) may also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
