Under the general supervision of the Child Nutrition Supervisor II in the Field Services Unit of the Nutrition Services Division and the guidance of a Child Nutrition Assistant (CNA), the Seasonal Clerk will assist the CNA with the following:
Complete nutrient analysis of menus using the food-based menu planning option
Contact school food authorities, vendors, and field staff to gather technical information
Enter data into the nutrient analysis program
Notify food program sponsors if they are in compliance with nutrient standards
Provide sponsors with the necessary actions needed to achieve compliance with U.S. Department of Agriculture nutritional standards
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and in teams

Individuals who have eligibility for appointment to the above class (e.g., transfer, list, reinstatement). All applicants must clearly indicate the basis of their eligibility in the “Explanations” section on the Standard Application Form (Std 678). Employment provisions as outlined by the California Department of Human Resources’ State Restriction of Appointments (SROA) policy will prevail. In addition, current or future executive orders relative to filling vacant positions may also affect this process. Applications will be screened and only the most qualified will be interviewed.
Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the minimum qualifications, the applicant will be removed from the eligibility list.
