The reporting location for this position is at Headquarters in Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Assistant Deputy Director for Administration. The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all accounting and related fiscal activities for the Department. This position assists with developing policy, establishes objectives, and sets forth guidelines to ensure the Department’s fiscal structure adheres to sound management practices and accounting principles. The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to provide managerial leadership to the fiscal, administrative, systems and development areas of program operation to ensure management has access to needed cost data required for timely and informed program decision making. Significant experience in Accounting practices and principles and related fiscal activities; managerial leadership; policy and procedure development and compliance; design and development of a management fiscal reporting system; CALSTARS and various fiscal subsystems, including conformance with standards and timeliness established by statute, regulations, and control agency policy are required.
