Are you a creative and talented television & multi-media photographer / producer / editor who can do a little bit of everything? Do you like to write, shoot, and edit? Want to be a part of a dedicated, enthusiastic, and creative production team? A position is available with the Media Production Services team at the California State Board of Equalization (BOE). The position will put your creative and technical skills to the test by producing multi-media communication and television content for the BOE. We’re looking for someone who has professional level shooting and lighting skills and who is highly proficient in non-linear editing and compositing. Someone who has produced a variety of media projects at the professional level working in the private or government sector. Someone who is highly organized, proactive and a team player. The position calls for an individual who can write scripts, serve as a project manager, and direct on-camera talent. Working closely with the Staff Services Manager, the Outreach Services Division, and the External Affairs Department the person in this position will interact with mid-to-upper level BOE management, BOE program staff, and Board Member staff. Good interpersonal skills are a definite plus. Travel required 10-15% of the time. Must be willing to work in a high rise building. The position requires knowledge, skills, abilities, and a high-degree of experience in video and media production that are of a professional level (State Service – TV Specialist or Private Sector – Journey Level). Please provide how long you have worked at a professional level in the field of media production and please describe the various professional level video and media projects that you have worked on. Clearly describe which aspects of the work for which you were responsible. *Professional Level : An individual who has worked in this classification and/or was their primary job function or responsibility 2. Please provide the production process from start to finish that a typical video project goes through to its completion. 3. The position requires the ability to develop, create, and produce a variety of professional quality audio, video, and multi-media productions from start to finish. Describe the most recent project you completed for a private sector or government agency where you acted as the lead producer. Specifically address the steps you took to make sure the project was completed on time. 4. Technology and equipment make advances quickly in the field of video and media production. Post-production software applications and hardware, video cameras, audio equipment, grip and lighting equipment continually make improvements which require skill and knowledge for their professional use. Please describe the professional experience you have had within the past 12-months with post-production software applications and media production equipment. List the specific applications with which you are currently an expert or highly-proficient. In addition list the production and lighting equipment with which you are currently an expert or highly-proficient.
